Care packages and remuneration
Care Packages
34 Degrees South works with each client, individually, to
accommodate and manage the work shifts of their personal
care assistant/s. Our care packages are flexible and will
differ from client to client. The type of package will be
discussed in detail, and finalised, with each placement.
|
The packages are usually structured along the
following lines:
|
| |
|
1 |
A personal care assistant who works on his/her own
(7 days a week) has to have one week off for every
three weeks worked i.e. work three weeks, off one week.
|
2 |
A personal care assistant who works on his/her
own, but has a respite carer standing in two days a
week will be working
continuously as he/she has two days off for every five days
worked.
|
3 |
Two personal care assistants who work together for
one client work for five days and have two days off.
In this case they will also work continuously.
|
4 |
A personal care assistant who does respite work
only (7 days a week) will do three one-week shifts.
The fourth week he/she will be off.
|
What you can expect to earn
The salary of every personal care assistant differs according
to the needs and care package of each client. The average
gross weekly wage of our personal care assistants is £460.00.
National Insurance and PAYE are deducted from this amount.
A live-in personal care assistant, who works alone, does
not pay for food or accommodation while working.
Where two of more personal care assistants work for one
client simultaneously, they make a contribution towards food
and accommodation.
